Vacha is a raw black metal band from Austin TX formed in 2016. Our music is inspired by 80s black metal (Bathory, Mayhem, Celtic Frost) as well as minimalist 90s black metal (Von, Darkthrone, Xibalba). We present a simple stripped down approach in our music and the aesthetic of our live show to differentiate ourselves from more ornate and theatrical black metal bands. We practice and support DIY music production and promotion as a method of insulating ourselves from the rampant white supremacy and toxic masculinity that is endemic of the extreme metal scene. 100% of our merchandise profits are donated to the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund.
